Application Opening and Closing
Applications open in January.
You have until the deadline in April to complete your application.
We highly suggest starting early, as the application process can be time-consuming.
Scholarship announcements will be made between the end of May and the beginning of June. All applicants will receive an update by the end of June, after recipients have been selected.
Requirements
THE SMSF APPRENTICESHIP SCHOLARSHIP is open to High School Seniors and individuals pursuing careers in the construction industry through Apprenticeships and Trade Schools. The Apprenticeship Scholarship is not open to individuals who are Journeymen status.
THE SMSF UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP is open to High School Seniors and College Students with at least one full year left in Undergraduate Programs. The Undergraduate Scholarship is not open to individuals enrolling or enrolled in Graduate or Master’s Programs.

NO. Applications will be completed through an online portal. Once the application is live you will be able to login into your personal account to complete the required sections.

Transcripts are required for a complete application, and you are expected to upload a copy of them to your application.
Official transcripts will be requested upon receival of the scholarship.

YES, if you are actively pursuing an apprenticeship in either one, i.e. If you are working for a union contractor but not yet accepted into the union or are a High School senior with apprenticeship to start upon graduation.
