Jackson Bell
Scholarship Award: $10,000
Sherwood, Oregon
Construction Management at Boise State UniversityJackson Bell from Sherwood, Oregon, is entering his sophomore year at Boise State University in Construction Management. He is now a two-time recipient of this scholarship. When speaking about receiving this award again, Jackson said, "Because of the support behind this scholarship, I feel a responsibility to continue pushing myself and taking advantage of every opportunity in front of me." Jackson stated his goal is to start as a field engineer and work his way up to project manager. He enjoys playing a variety of sports and being a member of an AGC student chapter.

Phoenix Boles
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Ketchikan, Alaska
Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State UniversityPhoenix Boles of Ketchikan, Alaska, is attending Oregon State University for a degree in Construction Engineering Management. He is entering his junior year and is a two-time recipient of this award. He has expressed, "The construction industry is exactly where I want to be, not only because of the opportunities it provides, but because of the tangible impact it has on people's daily lives." He has enjoyed gaining more experience this past school year, which has helped him to form new goals for his future career in construction. He wants to become a project engineer who contributes to residential and infrastructure projects. Phoenix has received OSU's high honor roll for five consecutive terms and volunteers weekly at the Oregon State food pantry to help give back to his local community.

Luke Davis
Scholarship Award: $10,000
Bend, Oregon
Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State UniversityLuke Davis of Bend, Oregon, is going into his junior year and is enrolled at Oregon State University for both a Construction Engineering Management degree, and a minor in Business Administration. He holds a position on OSU's AGC's student chapter, along with competing on the ASC Heavy Civil Competition team. Luke is a two-time scholarship recipient and stated," If there is one thing that this scholarship has taught me, it is that success in this industry is achieved through hard work and empowering others." Luke aims to continue gaining experience in the industry. He interned with Advanced American Construction last summer, and this summer, he will get to experience a new side of the industry by interning with Pence Contractors.

Cleo Dunn
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Jacksonville, Oregon
Construction Engineering Technology at Montana State UniversityCleo Dunn is from Jacksonville, Oregon, and is attending Montana State University. She will be entering her senior year in the fall and completing her Construction Engineering Technology major. Cleo has remained on the Dean's List for her academics each semester since her second semester freshman year. She is an active member of many clubs and organizations, such as the Women's Engineering Club, Collegiate Young Farmers & Ranchers, and Sigma Alpha Professional Sorority. Her goal is to pursue a career in heavy civil construction. She is especially interested in sustainable infrastructure for rural communities where transportation and water systems are critical.

Maya Hankins
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Morton, Washington
Construction Management at Central Washington UniversityMaya Hankins is from Morton, Washington, and will be a senior at Central Washington University, pursuing a degree in Construction Management and a minor in Business. Along with her strong academics, she is a member of the advisory board of the CWU's Construction Management Club, Beavers Charitable Trust for Women in Heavy Construction, and Sigma Lambda Chi Honors Program. Maya stated, "My career goals include being part of this important construction growth in the future. Community development, housing projects, and infrastructure advancements are needed to help this expansion in my community and others like it."

Michael Hiller
Scholarship Award: $10,000
Saint Paul, Oregon
Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State UniversityMichael Hiller of St. Paul, Oregon, is a proud three-time recipient of this scholarship. He will be entering his senior year at Oregon State University, pursuing a degree in Construction Engineering Management and a minor in Organizational Leadership. Michael expressed,"You should know that I am never afraid to work harder than what the minimum required of me is. I said this in both my 2024 and 2025 applications, and it still is my guiding rule, which I follow every day." You can see this hard work reflected in his grades and his involvement in serving as Vice President and now President of OSU's AGC student chapter, along with team captain for OSU's heavy civil reno team.

Nick Hopper
Scholarship Award: $15,000
Bend, Oregon
Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State UniversityNick Hopper is from Bend, Oregon, and will be a senior at Oregon State University, majoring in Construction Engineering Management with minors in Business Finance and Geomatics Engineering. He is a two-time scholarship recipient. Nick is a very motivated individual. He has remained on OSU's academic honor roll since his freshman year, he has served as President and now Vice President of OSU's AGC student chapter, he has remained Finance President of Alpha Gamma Rho Agricultural Fraternity since his freshman year, and served as a captain on OSU's Heavy Civil Reno Team this year. He will be interning this summer with Advanced American Construction and is looking forward to getting hands-on experience.

Kevin Kelly
Scholarship Award: $7,500
West Linn, Oregon
7th Term Inside Wireman at Area 1 Inside Electric JATCKevin Kelly of West Linn, Oregon, is a 7th term inside wireman apprentice in the Area 1 Inside Electric JATC program. He has a finance degree, but decided his real passion was working with his hands. He's really enjoyed the new skills he has gained within his program. Kevin wants to help inspire more people to get into the trades. When speaking about this scholarship, he stated, "I'm also really inspired by the people in this community. When I watch the award dinner videos year after year, I'm struck by how talented and hardworking everyone seems. It makes me want to be better, not just in my trade but in everything I do." Outside of his apprenticeship, he enjoys spending time with family, music production, and leading a worship team. He is also a recipient of the Mike Rowe ethic scholarship for the past three years.

Ryker Kitchen
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Brush Prairie, Washington
Civil Engineering at Oregon State UniversityRyker Kitchen, from Brush Prairie, Washington, is entering his junior year at Oregon State University, where he is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a three-time scholarship recipient. When reflecting on the scholarship, he stated, "The legacy left by Forrest and Konrad is a strong inspiration to me. Learning about their story has shown me the importance of hard work and dedication in the construction and engineering industry." Ryker is excited to start his summer internship with Columbia West Engineering. Besides his schoolwork, Ryker enjoys staying involved in basketball, whether he is playing himself or volunteering as a coach to help teach his younger brother and his team new skills.

Noah Koopman
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Portland, Oregon
Civil Engineering at the University of KentuckyNoah Koopman, from Portland, Oregon, will be entering his senior year at the University of Kentucky, where he is majoring in Civil Engineering. He is a two-time recipient of this scholarship. Noah is looking forward to gaining new career experience in his internship this summer with Gray Construction in Kentucky. Reflecting on his experience as a scholarship recipient, he shared, "Having the opportunity to learn from other like-minded Schweiger recipients left me with new life perspectives and ultimately a motivation to work harder." Inspired by the connections he has made through the program, Noah hopes to help introduce others outside the PNW to this scholarship and its mission. Outside of his studies, Noah serves as a new member educator and supervisor of risk management for his fraternity Beta Theta Pi.

Steve Martinez
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Vancouver, Washington
6th Term Pile Driver at Western States Carpenters
United States VeteranSteve Martinez of Vancouver, Washington is a 6th term Pile Driver apprentice at the Western States Carpenters apprenticeship program. He is employed by Advanced American Construction and is working towards his journeyman status. He has already graduated from commercial diving school, and this is his next step in meeting his career goals. He is a US Navy Veteran, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, Navy good conduct medal, national defense service medal, global war on terrorism service medal, pistol marksmanship ribbon. When speaking about the scholarship, he said, " The application process has reminded me of the integrity and dedication my work requires. I have carried grit through each chapter of my career path."

Matthew Mitchell
Scholarship Award: $10,000
Milwaukie, Oregon
3rd term heavy equipment operator at Operating Engineers Local 701 JATC
United States VeteranMatthew Mitchell, from Milwaukie, Oregon, is a third-term (DIRT) apprentice with the Operating Engineers Local 701 Apprenticeship Program. He is employed by McDonald Excavating Inc. Matthew is a proud second-time recipient and a decorated U.S Navy Veteran. During his service, he received the Armed Forces Service Medal, War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal. Matthew is enthusiastic about his apprenticeship and has continued to go above and beyond to obtain all his certifications. He said, "Working out in the elements and giving back to my community through hard work is what I am passionate about and want to continue to pursue as my career. Much like Forrest and Konrad Schweiger, I am inspired by my father and what he continues to accomplish in the construction industry." In his spare time, he enjoys golf and cycling.

Caleb Patton
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Forest Grove, Oregon
Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State UniversityCaleb Patton of Forest Grove, Oregon, will be entering his sophomore year at Oregon State University for a degree in Construction Engineering Management. He spent his freshman year at Portland Community College and has worked this past year and a half as a Construction Laborer for Coral Construction. This experience has fed into his career goal of starting his own construction company, he looks forward to pairing his field experience with his higher education. Outside of school and work, Caleb enjoys a variety of sports, including football, lacrosse, and baseball.

Anka Phillips
Scholarship Award: $15,000
Portland, Oregon
Diesel Service Technology at Portland Community CollegeAnka Phillips of Portland, Oregon, is entering her sophomore year at Portland Community College in Diesel Service Technology. She is currently employed at Gunderson Marine & Iron as a welder and ship fitter. She has maintained high grades and made PCC's president's list since starting her education. Her main career goal is to become a lead mechanic and remain working in the maritime industry fixing shipboard equipment and systems. She will be starting her second associate's degree in Electric Power Generation next year. Outside of her work and studies, Anka enjoys fishing, hiking, and testing out new recipes in the kitchen. Anka has expressed immense pride in being awarded this scholarship and looks forward to being a part of this community.

Eva Rohatinsky
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Ridgefield, Washington
2nd Term heavy equipment operator at Local 701 Operating Engineers JATCEva Rohatinsky, from Ridgefield, Washington, is a 2nd-term operator apprentice with the Operating Engineers Local 701 Apprenticeship Program. In addition to her apprenticeship program, she is also attending Portland Community College to obtain her associate's degree in Civil and Construction Engineering Technology. She is top of her class at IUOE Local 701's apprenticeship program, and her instructor, Dave Sanders, shared, "It is always an honor to teach such motivated students and aid them in discovering their full potential. I am proud to be one of Eva’s instructors." Apart from work and school, Eva volunteers her time coaching cheer and doing photography.

James Simpson
Scholarship Award: $7,500
Molalla, Oregon
3rd Term Heavy Equipment Operator at Operating Engineers Local 701 JATCJames Simpson from Beaverton, Oregon, is a 3rd-term heavy equipment operator apprentice in the Operating Engineers Local 701 Apprenticeship Program. He is employed by Titan Utilities as he works towards his journeyman status. James has expressed his passion for this industry, and his goals not only include continuous improvement, but he would like to one day have the opportunity to become an instructor and be able to help others the way this career and his instructors have helped him. Lonny Land, his program director, had this to say, "His workmanship is excellent, and he is a high achiever within our group of apprentices. He would be an exceptional Schweiger Fund recipient." In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
